Biography

Graduated from the Faculty of Broadcasting at Nihon University College of Art .
“Steam Head,” a series based on his own unique “live-animation” style, which combines live action photography with computer graphics, won the Grand Prix at the 1998 MTV Station-ID Contest. At the New Director Showcase of the Cannes Advertising Festival in 2000, he was selected as one of the 8 international new rising directors.
His original short film “Zero” won a triple award in 2004: the Grand Prix, the Jury Award, and the Student Jury Award, at the Short Shorts Film Festival, an event considered to be one step to success at the Academy Awards.
The historical entertainment program “Time Scoop Hunter,” which he scripted and directed, began broadcasting on NHK General TV in 2009. Since then, Seasons 1 to 6 of the series have been broadcast over a period of six years.
The full feature movie “Time Scooop Hunters -Azuchi Castle’s Last Day” was released in summer of 2013. Currently, the TV series’ seasons 1 to 5 DVDs, and the movie version’s DVD & Blu-ray disc are available for sale.
